Shopify catalog migration for Mirth & Mettle

Mirth & Mettle’s move from WooCommerce to Shopify required its existing catalog to fit the new platform’s product and variant structure. Blurr built the data transformation and import files, alongside work on the Shopify theme.

Project background

Mirth & Mettle is an Egyptian women’s accessories boutique. The migration project covered its product names, categories, imagery and variations. Each variation needed to remain associated with the correct product as the catalog moved between commerce platforms.

Converting the WooCommerce catalog

Blurr built a script that transforms the source product data into Shopify import files. It processes products and their variations together, retaining the options that distinguish one version of an item from another. Category and image information are included in the conversion, so the import carries the material needed to organize and display the catalog.

Preparing the Shopify storefront

Shopify theme work accompanied the catalog preparation, covering the storefront in which the migrated products would appear. The transformation script supplies a repeatable import process as the source data is prepared. An earlier, separate Medusa build includes storefront and backend scaffolding with product-search synchronization.
