Intel Campus Cup: connected event operations and AI experiences
Blurr built the Intel Campus Cup platform, connecting student registration, event operations, kiosk activities and public screens. The work brings AI image experiences into the same participant journey, with generation controls, stored results and delivery back to students.
Project background
Intel Campus Cup brings student participation, competitive activities and technology experiences into a shared event programme. For Intel, Blurr built the software connecting those activities with registration and event administration, working with BME on the event platform. The scope includes the student companion experience, check-in and operator applications, administration, kiosks, public screens and the official landing site.
The central implementation problem was continuity between those surfaces. A student registering on a phone, joining an activity at a kiosk and appearing in a leaderboard needs to remain the same participant throughout. Staff also need a consistent record when reviewing access, managing a queue or resolving an incomplete activity. Blurr organized the platform around that shared participant and event context.
Connecting registration to participation
Registration and check-in establish the participant record used by the rest of the platform. Student identification processing includes an OCR step that extracts text for review. Once participants enter the event workflow, queues, activity results, points and squads connect their actions across the student application and staff interfaces. This makes registration part of the operating system for the event, with the information available where an activity is managed.
Coordinating staff, kiosks and venue screens
Different event roles require different controls over the same activity. Blurr built separate interfaces for check-in staff, operators and administrators, alongside participant kiosks and public displays. Results and leaderboards carry completed activity into the audience experience, while rewards, draws and reporting provide the administrative follow-through. Campus activities and Grand Final workflows sit within the same platform, so the event can use a common set of records across its different formats.
Integrating AI image generation into event rules
AI Cosplayer, Prompt Battle and Squad Poster combine participation with generated images. Each experience needs more than a request to an image model: the participant must make an allowed choice, the request must meet the prompt policy, and capacity must be available for that activity. Blurr connected approved character choices, prompt checks and generation quotas to the event workflow. Capacity is reserved before a request proceeds, including requests made concurrently from different stations.
Generation continues through recorded processing and delivery states. The platform stores completed images and connects them to the relevant participant or play, with retrieval and delivery workflows for the result. Failed requests and uncertain provider outcomes remain visible for operational review. These controls let staff distinguish a completed experience from one that needs attention.
A shared platform for the Campus Cup experience
The delivered implementation connects the public event site, student journey, staff operations and AI activities. Registration records carry into participation; activity results carry into screens and administration; generated images carry back to the people who requested them. The result is a connected event platform with defined responsibilities for participants, staff and background processing.
